Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Snowblind Studios announced today that they have re-launched the official website for their upcoming The Lord of the Rings title, War in the North. Apparently the site for the upcoming action-RPG was in need of an update (who knew?). As with most official sites for games these days, the new official site for War in the North is not only meant to act as a hub for information about the game and its development, but as a gathering place for people interested in the game. It’s got Facebook and Twitter connectivity, regular updates and a community forum.
As far as the game goes, it’s the more “hard-hitting M-rated RPG” Warner Bros.’ Steven Hosey told us about at the 2010 Playstation Holiday Preview Event in October. Currently in development at Snowblind Studios, War in the North takes players to the Northern region of Middle-earth to to places, mostly, not seen in the films, featuring a brand new storyline based within the LOTR lore. WBIE is actively seeking a Mature rating for the game, so the combat will be quite bloody. It’s set to release next year, for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Games for Windows.
